The Lazy Bear Grill is a must-stop restaurant offering a delicious from-scratch menu. Everything was wonderful and the service great. Lexie was our host and was attentive and fun, and so was everyone else. I had the seasonal Philly cheese steak sandwich with French dip and my wife had the feta cheese omelet. Both were exquisite. They roast their own coffee (amazing!!!) and bake their own pies (to die for!!). All their breads are baked in-house, too. Don't miss this amazing stop on your travels up or down I35. Or just make it a destination. You will NOT be disappointed. Thanks to everyone for making our visit so pleasant.

Delicious homemade food, breakfast served All day, wonderful service, clean, cute gift shop with all things MN. Easy access right off Hwy 35 minutes from Duluth in Barnum, sufficient parking even for truck & trailer with gas right next door. Has been a wonderful stop for decades!

Yum! We came here on our way home from Duluth and are so glad we stopped. I got the Northwoods omelette which I would definitely recommend and get again. The French toast was super thick and yummy. My husband got the Hash Brown Scramble which he really liked as well! I’d highly recommend stopping! *Their coffee was good as well.*

Super good food... we had chicken tenders and fries which were nice and juicy, a bacon cheeseburger with cranberry coleslaw, amazing bun and the coleslaw was awesome! We also had breakfast with great hash rows and berry jelly on the toast. The cry baby craigs hot sauce was a good addition to all the food we ate! We will be back!!

Scratch-made "anything" easily lands this place into a category beyond "Grill". They roast their own coffee beans in the lobby! Excellent food, prepared very well, very quickly. There's a lot to this place that sets it apart from other opportunities on I-35. The French toast is by far the best I'd had in years. This establishment, last I heard, is in need of a Baker. What an excellent opportunity for a young person to learn from the best. With the opportunity to learn a valuable skill here and continue baking at a high standard and build a personal reputation, it'd be hard to find other work opportunities to make dough while learning how to get your cake and eat it too. Good job management & staff - hopefully you'll be around a long time to show others how it's done!

We stopped here on our way North to Duluth. The pie is top notch. I dare say better than Betty's and Rustic Inn. The apple wild rice pancakes are made from scratch, not a box mix like most other places. The pork schnitzel is hand breaded and tender. The gravy was homemade and flavorful. The hashbrowns are hand shredded. The attention to scratch cooking is apparent and appreciated! They have a good menu of breakfast (Available all day) and sandwich options. I really don't think you can go wrong ordering anything here. They make their own jams for their toast and roast their coffee in-house! Their service is excellent. It's right off the I35 Barnum exit, so you don't have to drive 5 miles or more to get there. Look for the giant Lumberjack statue! Looking forward to a 3rd visit. :)

Ate here today as always food and service were GREAT. Wanted a piece of pie to go for a gift. I was concerned as I had a 3 hr drive ahead of me yet. They even put some ice in the bag to help maintain the pie. I'm very happy to say it survived the trip very well. Thanks again.

One of the best breakfasts I have had in my life. The coffee was very good, great tasting to start the meal off. I got meat lovers skillet for my bread I got French toast. My friend got an omelet with wild rice in it, among other things covered in Hollandaise sauce with hash. The customer service was excellent. They have a large gift shop downstairs with many cool things at reasonable prices. This will be a go-to spot whenever ever I am in the area.
